President's Message
June 2009
Welcome to the official site of the First State Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators.
The First State Chapter is proud to serve our 50+ members by providing them with opportunities for growth and development in the legal management profession. For over 25 years, our local educational programs and networking events have combined with the valuable resources available to our members through National ALA to benefit not only the members themselves but the firms, legal departments and organizations with whom they work.
The past months have been very busy for our Chapter. At our January meeting, Avish Parashar, a professional improv speaker spoke on “The Light Side of Stress.” February’s meeting was a lively roundtable discussion led by our Vice President Joann Winterle and March was a Marketing program presented by chapter member Jennifer Smuts, Past President of the Legal Marketing Association. The April, May, and June meetings were the Chapter’s series on Information Technology in a Law Office. All of the Librarians and IT staff from our Chapter Members’ firms were invited to attend.
The upcoming months are proving to be just as busy and exciting as the past months have been. The Chapter’s summer social has been set for July 22nd. Our Program Committee is already hard at work preparing for our educational programs which will kick off at our September meeting. The Chapter is also planning our Community Challenge which will be in October.
We encourage you to browse through our website and see all the First State Chapter has to offer. If you are interested in becoming a member, be sure to check our Membership section. If you are a vendor considering a business sponsorship, please look at the Business Partner portion of our website.
Thank you for visiting the First State Chapter website. We look forward to answering any questions you might have and welcome your feedback.
