Congratulations to Tom Ralston (YCST) on the arrival of his first grandchild, Violet. 

Carol Strouth (Ward & Taylor) has been certified a Senior Professional in Human Resources.  Congratulations, Carol!

In recognition of their contributions to the Chapter, Carol Travia (Potter Anderson) and Linda Flaherty (Bayard) have each received a First State Chapter Scholarship to the ALA Annual Conference & Exposition in Boston this May.  The scholarships cover their registration fees and include a stipend for travel/lodging expenses.  Congratulations to Carol and Linda … enjoy your time in Boston!  And a big Thank You to our wonderful Business Partners for making these scholarships possible.

At the September meeting we discussed sources of information on preparedness for the 2009 – 2010 influenza season.  The CDC has a plan and response guideline that you can find on its website (http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/business/guidance/).  You can also download a Business Pandemic Influenza Planning Checklist and find other resources at www.flu.gov.
